👋 Hi, I’m Ilma Andayana.

I grew up in Indonesia and now live in the United States. I hold both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in electrical engineering. I earned my master’s degree from KAIST in South Korea, where I conducted research on digital image processing for medical and natural images.

After relocating to the U.S., I took a career pause to focus on my growing family and to wait for my work permit. During that time, I continued learning by taking courses in data analysis, machine learning, big data, and web design. Once I received my permit, I worked part-time for a coaching/consulting business, supporting their data efforts, customer success initiatives, and website management.

In my current role, I work closely with numbers across various responsibilities, such as reviewing invoices, analyzing contract documents, and creating visual reports from our internal data.

Throughout my various roles, a common theme has been my passion for uncovering patterns, solving problems, and telling data-driven stories. Perhaps this fascination stems from my enjoyment of mystery and detective stories, as working with data feels like a real-world version of that challenge. I am particularly attracted to the process of exploring a dataset, discovering insights, and transforming them into clear and engaging visuals.

While my career path has not been linear, each step has deepened my curiosity, enhanced my technical skills, and reinforced my commitment to thoughtful, detail-oriented work.
