Ramadhan and Eid al Fitr are two important Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide. Ramadhan is a month-long fasting and spiritual reflection, while Eid al Fitr marks the end of Ramadhan and is celebrated with great joy and festivity. During the holy month of Ramadhan, Muslims perform special voluntary night prayers called Tarawih. And on Eid al Fitr, Muslims are encouraged to perform special prayers in the morning. In both prayers, Indonesian women usually wear mukena.

Mukena is a garment widely worn by Indonesian Muslim women during prayer. It is usually made of lightweight cotton or silk fabric and comes in various colors and styles.

Considering how special Tarawih and Eid al Fitr prayers are, it is customary for Muslim women to wear their nicest mukena. Hence, before Ramadhan or Eid al-Fitr, it is likely for Muslim women to search for mukena to renew their wardrobes or for friends and family to search mukena for presents.

In this project, I want to study the trends of the keyword mukena on Google Search in Indonesia. The reports will show the weekly trend each year from 2017 to 2021, ending on the week of Eid al Fitr. Every week on Google Search’s report starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday.
